Saraye Amanat Khan, 6 December (Gursharan Singh Aulakh) — In a troubling incident in Kasel village, a local resident fired gunshots at another villager over a dispute regarding Panchayat elections. The attack took place while the victim, Angrej Singh, was on his way to drop his children off at school. As he was walking, the assailant, a fellow villager, ambushed him and fired shots with the intent to kill.
Speaking about the incident, Angrej Singh, son of Baldev Singh, explained that as he was heading to the school, the assailant shot at him, but he managed to escape by running into a nearby house and sought safety. He immediately informed the police about the attack.
The police, under the leadership of Station Head Officer (SHO) Balraj Singh, quickly arrived at the scene and began their investigation. According to Angrej Singh, the shooter had been holding a grudge against him due to a dispute over Panchayat votes and had been threatening him for some time.
SHO Balraj Singh confirmed that a thorough investigation is underway, and a case will be registered based on the victim’s statement.
