Sarai Amanat Khan, April 8 (Gursharan Singh Oulakh) – The annual two-day Vaisakhi Mela at Gurdwara Tap Asthan Bhagat Jallan Das Ji in the border village of Naushhera Dhala will be celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm on April 13 and 14, Sunday and Monday.
Providing information about the event, Baba Nirmal Singh, the head sevadaar (volunteer) of Gurdwara Bhagat Jallan Das Ji and a member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, mentioned that the Akhand Path Sahib will begin on April 12, and the final bhog (completion) will be offered on April 14.
Following this, a two-day religious congregation will be organized, where ragis (devotional singers), dhadis (storytellers), and kavishri (poetry reciters) will narrate the history of the Gurus and spread joy among the sangat (congregation).
Local social workers and senior Congress leaders, including Davinder Singh Sandhu Lali Dhala, Jaswinder Singh Sandhu, Manjinder Singh Manna Bawa, and Sukhjeet Singh, urged the local residents and devotees from across the country and abroad to attend the mela and contribute to its vibrancy, bringing happiness to the Guru’s house.
On April 13, a bullock cart race will take place at 10 am, and on April 14, a kabaddi match will be held in the evening. The match will be between two small teams, one from Guru Ramdas Kabaddi Club of Village Kals and Baba Bindhi Chand Kabaddi Club from Village Chhina, and two large teams, including Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Kabaddi Club from Gurdaspur and Baba Jallan Kabaddi Club from Haveliya Dhala.
The winning teams will be rewarded by Sarpanch Davinder Singh Sandhu Lali Dhala and Jaswinder Singh Sandhu. In addition, Guru ka Langar (community meal) will be continuously served during the event.
