Ghannor, 8th April (Abhishek Sood) – During the Rabi season, the arrival of wheat has started at the Ghannor grain market. The Chairman of the Ghannor Market Committee, Jarnail Manoo, officially launched the wheat procurement today at the Ghannor grain market. Ashwani Sharma, a grain merchant from Sanoliya, purchased the first batch of wheat from farmer Balwinder Singh Ulana.
Speaking with the media, Chairman Jarnail Manoo stated that the Punjab government has made solid arrangements for the procurement and storage of wheat brought by farmers to the markets. After the timely procurement of the farmers’ crops, payments will be made to the farmers within 48 hours. He further claimed that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state government is committed to buying every single grain of the farmers’ produce.
