Sarai Amanat Khan, 8th April (Gursharan Singh Aulakh) – Even though there are two years left for the Punjab Assembly elections, people are ready to support the Congress Party starting today. These words were expressed by Congress Party’s District President, Karanbir Singh Burj, during a meeting at the home of Gurmej Singh Lahiya in the border village of Lahiya. He stated that the Congress Party is fully strong and united in Punjab, and is ready to contest upcoming District Council, Block Samiti elections, as well as the Ludhiana by-election.
He said that the Mann government not only failed to provide essential services to the people, but also encouraged drugs, unemployment, and gangsterism, leaving every individual feeling insecure. He assured that once the Congress Party forms the government, people will feel safe. On this occasion, Gurmej Singh and his associates honored Karanbir Singh Burj by presenting him with a “Sirpo” (traditional turban) in respect.
