Kapurthala, 7th April (Kauda) – The Sahibzada Ajit Singh Foundation Workers’ Club inaugurated the Annual Cricket Competition League at the Rail Coach Factory. The inauguration was done by the President of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Foundation and Chief Engineer Services, Redika, Pramod Kumar, in the premises of the Rail Coach Factory. During the match, the Rising Star Club won the toss and decided to field first. The Royal Challenge Cricket Club’s opening pair, Gurpreet Singh Gopi and Davinder Singh, made a partnership of 22 runs, with the first wicket falling as Davinder got out.
Following that, the Captain of the Royal Challenge Cricket Club, Sudesh Sharma, played responsibly and scored a quick 102 runs, hitting 8 fours and 5 sixes, helping his team to score 205 runs in 20 overs, losing 4 wickets. In response, the Rising Star Cricket Club was bowled out for 62 runs in 14 overs by the Royal Challenge Cricket Club.
Giving this information, the Secretary of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Foundation Workers’ Club, Naresh Bharti, stated that during the competition, Kapurthala city’s renowned doctor, P.S. Aujla, Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala’s Sports Officer, S.S. Rawat, Cultural Secretary Avtar Singh, Cricket Ground Incharge Ashwani Kumar, and Surinder Kumar specially attended the event and encouraged the players.
On this occasion, the President, Dr. Pramod Kumar, congratulated Naresh Bharti, the Secretary of the Foundation, for completing 25 years of service at the Workers’ Club and appreciated his role in this year’s annual cricket competition and other competitions.
Meanwhile, Cultural Secretary Avtar Singh, Sports Secretary Harpreet Singh, and Library Secretary Ashwani Kumar praised the overall performance, awarding the winning team and Sudesh Sharma with a cash prize for hitting a century and the “Man of the Match” award. Secretary Naresh Bharti thanked all the sports enthusiasts for their support and for celebrating his 25 years of service in this competition.
