Fagwara, April 7 (Prit Kaur Preeti) – In a generous act of support for the ongoing sewerage work in village Lakhpur, the Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) have donated a total of ₹1.60 lakh. The contributions are being made through the 108 Brahm Gyani Bhagat Jwala Das Development Society.During a conversation on this occasion, Sarpanch Gurmeet Singh Goggi and society advisor Jaswinder Singh Bangra (Retd. Principal) shared details of the contributions. Avatar Singh Dhadwal (UK), son of Gurmeet Singh Dhadwal, donated 50,000, Hardev Singh Dhadwal (Canada) son of Sansar Singh Dhadwal, donated ₹50,000, and Buta Singh Dhadwal (USA), son of Gurmej Singh Dhadwal, also contributed 50,000. Furthermore, Daljeet Singh (USA), son of Naseeb Singh, was so impressed by the ongoing sewerage work that he donated ₹10,000.The Sarpanch and advisor emphasized that NRIs have made a significant contribution to the development of the village. Sarpanch Gurmeet Singh Goggi explained that the sewerage work in the village had been incomplete for a long time but is now being completed with the help of NRI brothers. He appealed to the villagers and related NRIs to extend further support for the village’s development projects. He assured that Lakhpur will be developed as a model village.In addition to the sewerage work, the village plans to install street lights, plant trees, and set up parks with seating arrangements for the elderly, as well as improve the bus stand and other public spaces.On this occasion, Sarbjit Singh Dhadwal, Kuldeep Singh, Avatar Singh, Balwinder Singh, Avatar Singh, and Tarlochan Singh were also present.
