Jaito, April 8: (Raghunandan Parashar) – Shiromani Akali Dal’s Senior Leader and former MLA, Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.Speaking with reporters today in the villages of Chohla Sahib and Khadur Sahib, Brahmpura strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led Punjab government for failing to ensure security in the state. He pointed out that the rise of gangsters in Punjab was a serious concern, while the safety of ordinary citizens had become a topic of increasing worry. The deteriorating law and order situation, he said, raised the fundamental question of who would protect Punjab’s citizens. The ongoing killing spree in the state was also a cause of great concern.Commenting on the recent grenade attack at the residence of former Cabinet Minister, Manpreet Kalia, Brahmpura termed it as an extremely unfortunate incident. He further emphasized that the government’s failure to protect even VIPs indicated a troubling trend.Brahmpura also raised concerns over Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s tendency to please senior leaders of his own party rather than focusing on the welfare of the state. He questioned Mann’s commitment to the welfare of Punjab, citing the government’s recent decision to withdraw security from senior Akali Dal leader and former Cabinet Minister, Bikram Singh Majithia. Brahmpura condemned this decision, calling it politically motivated and highly objectionable.Referring to the assassination of famous singer Sidhu Moosewala, Brahmpura pointed out the grave consequences of government negligence and stressed that the people of Punjab would not overlook such failures. He also criticized the Mann administration’s inefficiency in curbing the spread of drugs in the state. He referenced the recent seizure of illegal drugs by a female constable of the Punjab Police, Amanpreet Kaur, which pointed to a serious investigation issue.Brahmpura urged Punjab’s Governor, Gulab Chand Kataria, to intervene in the matter and called for the involvement of central investigative agencies, such as the National Investigation Agency (NIA), to investigate the drug-related allegations against senior Punjab Police officers. He strongly asserted that the Bhagwant Mann government appeared to be protecting some corrupt officials within the police force and stressed the need for strict intervention by the central government to restore Punjab’s prosperity.Brahmpura also acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of Punjab’s Governor Kataria in trying to personally curb drug trafficking in the state. He called for continuous support and efforts to pull Punjab out of the drug crisis.Present at the occasion were former Sarpanch Amrik Singh Chohla Sahib, Satnam Singh Karmuwala, Dr. Tajinder Singh Chohla Sahib, Manjinder Singh Latti, Gurdev Singh Chohla Sahib, Dilbar Singh Chohla Sahib, Secretary Gurdyal Singh, and Baljinder Singh Gohlawad.
