Sadik, August 15 (Vipin Mittal):** Thefts in Sadik are showing no signs of stopping, with three major thefts reported in the last month alone. However, no clue has yet been found in any of these cases. This has caused great resentment among the shopkeepers of Sadik.
Last night, once again, thieves broke into the *Balaji Mobile* shop by cutting through the roof and stole nearly one lakh rupees worth of new and old mobile phones. When the shopkeepers learned about the theft this morning, people became enraged. In response, the Sadik Traders Association immediately held an emergency meeting.
While speaking, **Surinder Sethi**, president of the Sadik Traders Association, said that shopkeepers, already struggling with financial difficulties, are now facing the added burden of daily thefts, while the police are doing nothing more than brushing dust off their uniforms.
All the shopkeepers have decided that until the issue of these thefts is resolved, the shops in Sadik will remain **closed indefinitely starting Saturday, August 16**, and a **chakka jam** (road blockade) will be held at **10 AM** as a form of protest.
Present at the occasion were: **Apar Sandhu, Dr. Harnek Singh Bhullar, Anoop Gakhar, Jagdev Singh Dhillon, Raju Gakhar, Surinder Chhinda, Vineet Sethi (President of Grocery Union), Amandeep Singh, Falwinder Makkar**, and many other shopkeepers.
