Bassi Pathana, April 8 (Uday Dheeman): Dr. Narendra Singh Bawa, a prominent social worker, was honored for his excellent services to society by Rajesh Singla, State Press Secretary of the Federation of Arti Association Punjab, and Dr. Harbans Lal, the former Minister of Punjab and President of the Aaha Naara Chetna Manch Punjab.
On this occasion, Rajesh Singla and Dr. Harbans Lal jointly mentioned that Dr. Narendra Singh Bawa has been providing excellent services to society, especially in raising awareness about the young generation falling into the trap of drug addiction in Punjab. They highlighted that seminars organized in Fatehgarh Sahib District by social service organizations, led by Dr. Bawa, have played a key role in combating drug addiction which is highly commendable.
Dr. Narendra Singh Bawa, while expressing his gratitude, stated that addiction is a mental illness. Drugs like white powder destroy a person from the inside. He emphasized the causes of addiction, such as unemployment, particularly among educated individuals, bad company, family disputes and sometimes even an excess of money, which leads young people to fall into drug addiction. He suggested that such young people should be counseled through conversations, helping them understand their issues and gradually changing their bad company. Additionally, he advised engaging them in positive activities like reading good literature and playing sports, as it would eventually help them leave the destructive path.
Dr. Bawa also said that the youth is the future of the nation, and they have the potential to bring about significant change. He mentioned that if the leaders of a country come from the youth, the nation’s development is bound to happen. However, it’s crucial for the youth to understand their responsibilities.
