Jaito, April 7 (Raghunandan Parashar): Sukhbinder Pal Singh Grewal, National Farmer Leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has strongly criticized the Punjab government and the concerned police officers, holding them directly responsible for the heavy damage and distress caused to the hardworking farmers of Punjab at the Shambhu and Khanouri borders.
Grewal condemned the Punjab government and its police force, alleging that they were involved in a deliberate conspiracy to malign the farmer’s movement and falsely accuse the Bharatiya Janata Party. He stated that innocent farmers’ tractors and trailers were stolen, seized, or illegally altered – many of which, surprisingly, were recovered from the premises of ruling party legislators and their associates. He asserted that this was not just mismanagement, but a state-sponsored theft and political retaliation.
He clearly stated, “This is a deep conspiracy to defame the BJP in Punjab. The Punjab government and the concerned police officers are collectively responsible for this gross violation of farmers’ rights. They have tried to blame the central government for this chaos, but the truth is clear — this is a local conspiracy with no involvement of the central government
Grewal announced that he would write a letter to Honorable Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, demanding an immediate and independent investigation into the matter. He urged the Ministry of Home Affairs to intervene immediately and conduct a high-level inquiry to uncover the truth behind this planned destruction. Furthermore, he demanded that all tractors and trailers illegally seized by the Punjab Police be returned to the farmers without delay.
Grewal also stated that the state government should compensate the farmers for their losses and that strict action should be taken against those responsible for encouraging or supporting this injustice, including political leaders and police officers.
He also emphasized that he would personally meet with the Home Minister soon to ensure that this matter is addressed at the highest level. Grewal added, “This is not just a matter of property – it is a matter of our farmers’ dignity, justice, and rights. The BJP stands firmly with the farmers of Punjab and will fight for every inch of truth on their behalf.”
