Hundreds of Workers from Jaito to Join Protest on December 10 : Happy Romana

Punjab Congress has called for a large-scale protest under its “Jobs Not Drugs” program to highlight the state government’s failure to curb drug addiction and provide employment to the youth. Youth Congress leader from Jaito constituency, Manjinder Singh Happy Romana, urged workers, leaders, and the general public to join the demonstration at Chandigarh on December 10.
Speaking with reporters, Happy Romana stated that the protest, led by Indian Youth Congress President Uday Bhan Chhib, will be held at Punjab Congress Bhawan, Chandigarh, starting at 10:00 AM. The aim is to gherao the Chief Minister’s residence to demand immediate action on issues affecting Punjab’s youth.
Romana criticized the Punjab government for its inaction against the growing drug menace, citing frequent deaths due to overdoses. He also condemned the government for failing to fulfill its employment promises made to the youth during the 2022 elections, accusing it of relying on empty assurances and advertisements instead of taking meaningful action.
Under Romana’s leadership, hundreds of workers and office bearers from Jaito constituency are expected to participate in the protest. He stressed the need for public support to hold the government accountable and to push for solutions to pressing issues such as unemployment and drug addiction.
Accompanying him during the press interaction were Punjab Youth Congress State Secretary Praveen Kaur Bhatti, Circle President Khushdeep Mittal, Social Media Coordinator Harminder Singh, General Secretary of Jaito Constituency Laxmi Ritu, and several other leaders and workers of the Youth Congress.
The protest aims to awaken the Punjab government from its slumber and force it to take concrete steps to address the challenges faced by the state’s youth.
