 Jalandhar, December 14 (Amritpal Singh)
In support of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is on a hunger strike, and in protest against the BJP-led Central Government, Congress leaders burned effigies of the Central Government at various locations today. Youth Congress leader Banni Khaira expressed concern over Dallewal’s deteriorating health and urged both the Central and state governments to abandon their rigid stance and accept the farmers’ demands.

Khaira warned that if anything were to happen to Dallewal, the Central Government, along with the Punjab and Haryana state governments, would bear full responsibility.

Farmers from the Punjab Farmers Struggle Committee blocked the Jalandhar Road at Jogewala village and burned an effigy of the Modi Government. Farmer leaders Sukhdev Singh Mand and Karnail Singh Bhola criticized the BJP government for forgetting the promises made to the farming community, accusing it of neglecting their demands.

The protests are part of ongoing demonstrations highlighting the frustration among farmers over unfulfilled commitments and the governments’ perceived indifference.
