Faridkot, 6 December (Vipin Mittal): Faridkot MLA Gurdit Singh Sekhon laid the foundation stone for a new cycling track at a cost of ₹73.55 lakh, which will run from Anandiana Gate to Baziagar Basti, and from Baziagar Basti to Sadiq Road.
Sekhon explained that the cycling track will be 4,000 feet long and 15 feet wide, constructed using interlocking tiles. He mentioned that work on the project had already begun. Previously, there was a drain in the area, which has now been covered, and a drainage system has been installed to manage rainwater. The track will be built above this covered drain.
He emphasized that the new cycling track will enhance the city’s beauty and will be beneficial for the public. In addition to planting trees, other beautification efforts will also be undertaken.
