Muktsar Sahib, April 7 (Manpreet Monu/Parmjeet Bedi) – In order to facilitate the public, several initiatives are being taken day by day by the district administration of Sri Muktsar Sahib. As part of these efforts, the District Police Chief has instructed the gazetted police officers, station in-charges, and other unit heads to ensure that public complaints are registered online and resolved in a transparent manner. He also appealed to the public to submit complaints related to the police department through the “PGD Portal” online, from the comfort of their homes, and avail this service.

The District Police Chief mentioned that the portal was launched in 2022, but due to a lack of awareness, it has not been widely used by the public so far. SSP encouraged citizens to take advantage of this modern, transparent, and efficient service, rather than visiting police stations or offices.

Easy Facility to Register Complaints Online from Home

The District Police Chief explained that the PGD Portal is a modern online platform launched by the Punjab Government. Through this portal, the public can save time and register complaints directly online via their mobile phone or computer by visiting the portal link (http://pgd.punjabpolice.gov.in), instead of going to any police station or office. He stated that the process of registering complaints through this system is very simple, and anyone who can operate a smartphone can easily submit their complaint. Additionally, the public can also check the status of their complaints via the portal.

Information on District PGD Portal

SSP shared that from July 1, 2022, until today, 802 complaints have been directly registered on the PGD portal by the public. For each complaint registered, the department immediately starts the necessary action. Every complaint is assigned a unique ID, which allows the complainant to track the status of their case. If there is any delay in action by an officer, the issue is reviewed by higher authorities.

The District Police Chief mentioned that special training has been provided to the staff managing the portal, and the entire team is working diligently to ensure its success.

Transparent System – A New Hope for the Public

The District Police Chief further explained that this platform is not only easy to use but is also completely transparent and accountable. The complainant receives updates at every stage of the process through messages.

The District Police Chief emphasized that he personally monitors this portal, and instructions are periodically given to the police personnel working on the PGD portal to ensure effective functioning.

SSP’s Appeal:

Dr. Akhil Chaudhary, IPS, SSP of Sri Muktsar Sahib, appealed to the public to use this portal, as it will save their time and provide a convenient way to register complaints.
