Trials for Day-Scholar Sports Wing Selection to Begin from 8th April: District Sports Officer

Sri Muktsar Sahib, April 7The Department of Sports, Punjab, has decided to conduct selection trials for the Day-Scholar Sports Wing Schools for the year 2025-26. This announcement was made by Mrs. Anindraveer Kaur Brar, District Sports Officer, Sri Muktsar Sahib. She stated that players from age categories Under 14, Under 17, and Under 19 are eligible to participate in the selection trials.She further explained that the date of birth for the players should be as follows:For Under 14: Born on or after January 1, 2012For Under 17: Born on or after January 1, 2009For Under 19: Born on or after January 1, 2007Players should be physically and medically fit, and they must have secured a position in the top three in district-level competitions or participated in state-level competitions. New players will also be considered based on their performance in the trials.Additionally, she mentioned that selected players for the Day-Scholar Wing will receive a stipend of ₹125 per day/per player, which will cover food, refreshments, sports equipment, and free coaching.The selection trials for both boys and girls will take place from April 8 to April 12, 2025, at various locations in the district. The trial locations for different sports are as follows:Kho-Kho (Girls only): Government High School, Village Buttar SireehWrestling: Government Senior Secondary School, GidderbahaBasketball: Baba Ganga Ram Stadium, GidderbahaBoxing, Gymnastics, and Hockey: Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Sri Muktsar SahibHandball: Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) Malout and Government Senior Secondary School Mahimoodkhera (Bhai Ka Khera)Roller Skating: Little Flower Convent School, Sri Muktsar SahibKabaddi: Dashmesh Stadium, Village GurusarThe trials will begin daily at 8:00 AM. Registration forms can be obtained for free from the trial locations or from the District Sports Officer’s office before the trial date. Players must bring their original birth certificates, Aadhar cards, sports achievement certificates, copies of those documents, and two recent passport-sized photographs.It is important to note that no TA/DA will be provided for players participating in the trials. Players must ensure they bring proper sports kit with them on the trial day.
