Murderer Arrested by Jagraon Police in 4 Hours After Killing

 Girl’s Father Over Relationship Dispute

Jagraon, 13 December   (Jaswinder Singh Dangi) – The Ludhiana Rural Police, led by SSP Navneet Singh Bains, successfully arrested a murder suspect within four hours, solving the case with the help of SP Parminder Singh, SP Ramaninder Singh, DSP Jasjot Singh, and the team from the City Police Station led by Inspector Amritjeet Singh.

The incident involves Sanjeev Kumar, who had been employed at Lal Palace Cinema in Jagraon for the past 10 years. His daughter revealed in her statement that she had been in a two-year-long friendship with Rishav Jain, a resident of Mohalla Beriyan. Rishav’s father ran a general store at Nalkian Wala Chowk, and Rishav also worked at the store. Rishav wanted to marry her, and she initially agreed, but constant arguments and disagreements led her to end the relationship about two months ago. After the breakup, Rishav started harassing her, and she informed her father, Sanjeev Kumar. Despite multiple attempts by Sanjeev Kumar to reason with Rishav, the harassment continued, and Rishav began threatening the family.

On Wednesday, after completing his shift at the cinema, Sanjeev Kumar was riding his bicycle home at around 9 PM but did not return. By morning, his family became worried and went to the cinema to inquire about him. They discovered that Sanjeev had been attacked near Sher Jung’s gate in front of Lal Palace Cinema. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Jagraon, where they were informed of his death due to severe head injuries.

CCTV footage revealed that at around 9:30 PM, Rishav Jain attacked Sanjeev Kumar with a metal rod, striking him in the head. Based on the girl’s statement, a murder case was registered, and the police launched a search for Rishav Jain. Within four hours, the police arrested Rishav Jain and recovered the metal rod used in the crime.

SSP Navneet Singh Bains confirmed that Rishav Jain would be presented in court, and the police would obtain his remand for further interrogation.
